Profiting With Micro Niches
60Micro Niche for Profits
In today's industry online business owners are finding it harder to find quality traffic and even harder to make sales as well as retain there current members. This is particularly true for the major niches that once were extremely bank-able such as Golf, Equipment, Games and many more.
Do not get me wrong I am not saying there still is not any money to be made with those niches, because I would be wrong. There is still plenty of money in those niches and always will be, but unless you have a major operation going on, It's getting tougher every day to make good money out of them.
Just my opinion.
So what can we do to earn profits to our company without going insane, trying to compete with the other 800,000 Golf sites out there? This is when we start to talk Micro Niche, yes Micro Niche is exactly what the name implies. It's a very narrow defined niche, where as "Golf" is a very broad niche, compared to a more narrow niches like "Kids Golf Clubs Sets".
The key to making a Micro Niche work is simple, you just have to do your resource and learn the market. The best way to do that is by hanging out online with the people or in other words surfers you are trying to target, lets say for example you are going to focus on "Golf Clubs" you would then do resource and find some networking sites with golf members, forums, newsgroups and just hang out for a couple of days, chat, read and participate.
You will quickly see that these are not your average surfers just browsing around. They know exactly what they want, and are willing to pay for it. It's more difficult for them to find what there looking for through a site that is filled with information that doesn't interest them.
Once you learned the mindset of the niche, it's time to move on.
LEARNING the niche is the key to success!
Rinse and repeat.

Interesting Hub, Jeffrey. I know nothing about this kind of thing, so am glad that generous Hubbers are generous with their info.
Good Hub, Jeffrey - That is great advice. I have started working along the same lines, also using my 'real world' experience. :)
Thanks Jeffrey for the great explaination about what a micro niche is and how to find them, and as you explained the broader niches have to many competing pages to rank high enough to get the traffic, especially if you are getting organic traffic with SEO.
I did want to share a tip that works really well when dealing with a big niche such as weight loss, once you add a specific location to the title it now becomes a micro niche, for instance weight loss tampa florida.
Try it, my guess is that is why classified sites get ranked so high is because each section is broken down by city and state location.
great hub! Just what I was looking for...
A lot of this online marketing stuff has always seemed like it is impossible to wade through and understand, but this hub made a lot of sense and has given me something to think about.
Instead of worrying about who I am going to compete with, I can simply narrow down into a category that has barely been touched. Considering the size of the global market, Im bound to be successful specializing like this!
